Project Summary Task

Watch our video about Summary Task in Microsoft Project:

A Project Summary Task displays your whole project on a single row with its own summary taskbar.

  1. Go to the Format tab on the ribbon
  2. Select Show/Hide section
  3. Click on the checkbox Project Summary Task
To make the Project Summary Task default for all new projects:
  1. Go to the File
  2. Select Options
  3. Select Advanced
  4. Scroll down to the middle of the screen
  5. Find Display Options For This Project
  6. Select For All New Projects from the drop down
  7. Put the checkbox Show Project Summary Task
Next time you restore the Project Professional and next time you start the project, you will see the Project Summary Task visible on your project schedule

Hope this helps. Please contact us with questions.
