Recommendations for quick optimization check that you can do before publishing project plan to Microsoft Project Online or Microsoft Project Server:

1. Check if you have any tasks without predecessors or successors. Use standard filters that are available in Project Professional. Right-click to show predecessors and successors. Tasks where they predecessor are empty. 
   
2. Check if every task has assigned resource. Use filter, select Blank. Tasks without Resource Name should be linked. The only exception if that tasks are Milestones.
   
3. Check if task is not Milestone. Use filter, select NO.
