Working with Columns in Project Pro

Watch our video about working with columns in Microsoft Project:

Insert a column:

1. Right-click on the column header of any column in a table
2. Click on the Insert Column
3. Select the column you want to insert from the list of default and custom fields
   

Hide a column:

1. Right-click on the column header of a column you want to hide
2. Click on the Hide Column
   

Rename a column:

1. Double click on the title of the column
2. Type the new title
   

Replace a column with a different one:

1. Double click on the title of the column
2. Pick another column you want to add from the list of default and custom fields

More settings (column text alignment, changing of the column width, another way to change title of column):

1.       Right-click on the column header

2.       Click on Field Settings

3.       From Field Settings dialog box, select the field name you want to change

4.       Type a new title in the Title box

5.       You can use Align Title list or Align Data list to change the alignment of the column title or to change the alignment of the field information itself. You can also enter the number in Width box to change the column width

6.       Click OK
